M.K. West | writer | director | producer

Meghan Klien West is a writer with a background in post production. Her documentary editorial debut, KELLY, premiered at the 2012 Slamdance Film Festival. She recently edited a documentary short, LARP: A LOVE STORY, which has gone on to play multiple festivals including Florida Film Festival and the Chicago Underground Film Festival. In addition, she has worked in the post department on various comedic television shows, including American Vandal, Who is America?, PEN15, Baskets, The New Negroes, and the upcoming series, Dollface. She has also volunteered for Sundance Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, AFI Film Festival, and of course,  Slamdance Film Festival. Meghan received her liberal arts degree from Sarah Lawrence College, and attended the Czech film school, FAMU.  

Elsie Nwankwo | producer

Elsie Nwankwo is an experienced public relations professional with the ability to effectively and creatively manage media relations, crisis/reputation issues and brand identities. As the founder of Speculaas Media, she specializes in the intersection of communications and entertainment. Elsie’s passion for independent filmmaking led her to volunteer for Sundance Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, CMJ International Film Festival and IFP. The daughter of Nigerian immigrants, Elsie has been exposed to many cultures through her globetrotting. She has lived in Canada, the United States and the Netherlands. Elsie holds a Master of Arts degree in Discourse and Argumentation Studies from the University of Amsterdam and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Northwestern University. 

Brendan Merrill | co-producer

A Washington D.C. native, Brendan attended the University of Miami before moving to Los Angeles in 2009. His projects include THE NEXT BIG THING (2016) and UNDER MY SKIN (2020). In addition to producing, Brendan has edited for "America's Funniest Home Videos," CAA's marketing arm Observatory and Tumbleweed Entertainment. Brendan is about to make his directorial debut with the indie feature film MADE IN CHINA.

Alyssa Brocato | director of photography

Alyssa Brocato is a cinematographer based between Los Angeles and New York. Since receiving her BFA from Loyola Marymount University, her projects have spanned the narrative, commercial, documentary, and music video worlds throughout the U.S. and abroad. Her work most recently premiered in competition at Sidewalk Film Festival, NewFilmmakers LA, HollyShorts, and LA Shorts Fest. Alyssa’s narrative work has been featured as ‘Short of the Day’ on Film School Rejects, as well as Vulture and NewNowNext, and ‘Project of the Year’ on Indiewire. She values strong collaboration, and is passionate about supporting story and character through intuitive cinematography. THE SNOWFLAKES will mark Alyssa’s first collaboration with director Meghan Klien West. 

Vanessa Gritton | first assistant director

Vanessa Gritton brings sharp, witty insights and a wealth of life experience to everything she works on. As a host on the pop culture talk show El Rey Nation, movies are her life. Vanessa's diverse portfolio includes humorous contributions for online outlets, as well as segment producer duties on Sugar Rush and Nailed It! Mexico. She is also a stand-up comedian and sketch performer (notably with Nightchurch, a sketch horror-comedy team). If you want more Vanessa, she shares her thoughts on her own podcast Take A Walk! and as a guest on others, breaking down pop culture and discussing cultural assimilation with equal passion.
